The Horace Williams House is the perfect setting for your special events—weddings, rehearsal dinners, birthday and retirement parties, or any business celebrations or gatherings that require space outside the office.
Its initial construction dates back to the 1840s and was completed in the late 1850s. The Horace Williams House retains all of its original woodwork, fireplaces and windows, including exquisite parquet ceilings and a unique octagonal room. This historically preserved building is complemented by wide open lawns and magnificent trees. Indoors or out, the Horace Williams House is the classic backdrop to your special event.
Every rental includes use of all four rooms furnished with antiques, a kitchen, two parking lots, and the grounds. A staff person will also be on site during your rental.
The Horace Williams House is the headquarters of Preservation Chapel Hill, a nonprofit dedicated for nearly 50 years to protecting the character and heritage of the Town of Chapel Hill and the surrounding community.
When you rent this historic landmark, your fees directly support the mission of Preservation Chapel Hill.
Our rates are reasonable, and our service is impeccable. We can provide planning ideas, recommendations for vendors or advice on the best caterers to suit your event. An added bonus is that we’re only blocks away from the center of the UNC Chapel Hill campus, Downtown Chapel Hill and have ample parking.

Parking Rentals
Thank you for your interest in parking at the Horace Williams House. Parking fees help maintain the historic Horace Williams House and support the mission of Preservation Chapel Hill.
Parking is in the lower lot. Contracts run for the entire year, although occasionally semester spots open up. Please contact the Site Manager at rentals@preservationchapelhill.org for more information or to be placed on the wait list.
